do you think the nintendo wii is going to be good, i would prefer it to a ps3 or a xbox 360, i find tht they are to fussy!
Ive had a nintendo wii for a while but never really played it. Im more of a xbox 360 and ps3 person. But I would like to start playing the nintendo wii. I just don;t know what games are good. So could you list games that are good and the types of games they are? Thanks
I always used to buy any video games that I wanted to play. I never even considered the idea of using an online video game rental service, even though I\’ve been renting DVD movies online for several years now. But games are expensive and I don\’t have the money to spend on them like I used to. As I look through my game collection, I realize that I have wasted a lot of money on games that have barely been played and some that will probably never be played again. Why do I keep spending $30 to $60 a piece for these games?
Renting video games is a much better option for me now. There are several companies that rent games online, so I tried out three of them. This is something that I should have done long, long, ago, as I discovered that there are several good reasons to be renting games rather than buying them.
My favorite benefit of renting video games is having the option of trying out a game to see if I like it before buying it. With so many games to choose from, it can sometimes be difficult to decide on what game to buy. Some games might look and sound great on the box cover, but when you plug it into your console, it\’s a major disappointment. By renting the games first, you\’ll be able to find out if it\’s worthy of being added to your gaming library. If you buy a lot of games, this can be a real money saver.
There are some video gamers that like to take a new game and play it from start to finish over several days. Once they\’re done with the game, it just sits on the shelf collecting dust as they move on to the next game. For these type of players, renting video games can save them a ton of money. You could knock out 3 or 4 games a month for less than $20, compared to spending $150 to $200 or more buying the games. Even if you only rented and played one game a month, it is still cheaper to rent than to buy.
Game selection is another big advantage with online video game rental companies. GameFly has over 6,000 titles available to rent for Xbox, Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, PSP, Wii, Nintendo DS, GameCube, and Game Boy Advance. You won\’t find a selection anywhere close to that size in rental stores like Blockbuster. New releases are available as well as all the older games.
You also can\’t beat the convenience of having the games sent right to your house. I hated having to drive all around trying to find a game I wanted to rent, only to have to drive right back when I was done to return it. If it\’s a long drive to your local video game store, than you are going to love this feature.
You can also forget about having to worry about returning the game on time to avoid getting hit for late fees. Most online video game rental companies allow you to keep the game as long as you like. It doesn\’t matter if you go through the game in a couple of days, or a couple of weeks. Return it when you are ready and they will send out your next game.
There\’s no reason to throw away money on buying games when you can rent them for a small percentage of the price. But do not look for Netflix game rentals, they just do DVD\’s. There are a few wonderful services that rent video games online.
Microsoft’s Xbox 360 console is out and Sony announced a release date for PlayStation 3 months ago. So the big question is, when will Wii launch? The only official answer from Nintendo is sometime before the Thanksgiving holiday in America. But sources — both on the hardware and development side — argue that the console will be hitting much sooner.
A number of big-name publishers are set to release their Wii games in mid-to-late October, which suggests that a system debut could not be that far off. And several insiders have told IGN that November 2 could, in fact, be the big day.
Thing is, not all of our contacts are in agreement on the date. Some have suggested that November 12 could, instead, by Wii’s launch date. Regardless, though, it seems that Wii fans can look forward to their console sooner rather than later.
Sources suggest that Wii will launch with a 9 price tag and will be available in both black and white.
The Nintendo Wii has had its up and downs. Whether it was offering games that previously were dull and boring and turning them into fun and exciting new installments, or their infamous sensor remote controls crashing through a gamer\’s television, the Nintendo Wii has come a long way.
If you have never experienced the Wii\’s gaming capabilities, you\’re truly missing out. There are several types of games, from good ole Mario Kart to Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3, to more revolutionary games such as Wii Sports.
Pros: It gets you up and moving. Most of the Nintendo Wii\’s games are very interactive games. You can run, you can jump, you can trip and fall on your face or, if you get tired, you can easily sit down to a less contemporary game and just relax. The games, albeit harder to find than say Playstation 2, have fairly decent graphics and gameplay.
Most games use the standard Wii sensor controllers. There are, however, a few games that require special controllers. (They\’re more like holders that just change the way you use the game controllers. You just stick them in there and play.) Most of these also come with their own games as well.
Cons : The controllers. If you mistakenly forget to use the wrist strap, they can easily go flying into your TV, gaming friend, neighbor\’s window, cat\’s water bowl, etc . Also required is a charger to charge your Wii\’s controllers. The chargers incidentally are about forty dollars, which after dishing out a good 250-300 dollars for the console is a bit intimidating. However, an alternative is to buy chargeable batteries and a battery charger and simply switcheroo them out. Spatial issues could also arise. The Wii is thrice as fun when played with a friend, or maybe multiple friends, but some of the more interactive games may provide a difficulty in crowded places.
Pros and cons aside, the Wii is definitely a worthwhile investment, and is fun for all ages. Old folks, young children, teens, anyone can play the Wii. (This is proved by my 70-year-old grandfather who in all honesty plays the Wii more than his younger grandchildren for whom he bought the Wii for. His particular favorite are Wii Bowling and Golf.)
Finally, you gotta be pondering just how many games there are. According to several site, it\’s quite close to 450. This is quite an exponential growth considering it started with 21 in 2006.
So…go check it out!

I’m sort of torn between getting an XBOX 360 or a Nintendo Wii. ‘Cause I used to play XBOX so much when I was younger (can the 360 play the original games too?) and i love Nintendo, snes games are great and I like the Wii remote game play. I like how Ps3 sounds but is it really so amazing?
