I’m sorry to report that the Wii does NOT SUPPORT DVD playback or playback of most media formats WITHOUT hacking your system.
The Wii can play AAC formatted music files with the Photo Channel 1.1 during slide shows… but that’s it. If you have an older Wii, you can play MP3’s with Photo Channel 1.0
If you’re SERIOUSLY wanting to play multimedia files with your Wii, you’ll have to install the Homebrew Channel to do so.
WARNING: THE HOMEBREW CHANNEL IS AN UNOFFICIAL AND UNSUPPORTED CHANNEL! INSTALLING THIS CHANNEL WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY!!!
Once you have the Homebrew Channel installed, you can pick up a media player that can run in there so you can play those multimedia files AND DVD’s… but again, it’s an unsupported thing… so you doing this AT YOUR OWN RISK!
Hope that helps!
None of those, that is a major downside of it, although you can get a game called wii music and its like music ( it is! )
Invest in a ps3 if you want those features
It can, but you will need to mod it. Although the Wii ships with a DVD reader, Nintendo chose not to include it as one of the features. As for MP3’s, you can play your own MP3’s, from the Photo Channel. It’s way to complicated for me. I don’t know why they didn’t include these features, seeing as Xbox 360s and PS3s have these features. But that’s their choice.
Hope this helps!
no
No, it cannot play any of those things. That is the main reason Nintendo made the price the way it is. It is just a video game system! Less things it can do means less things that can break..lol!
u can play mp3’s if u have an sd card that has music on it go to the photo channel and while u watch a slidshow u can here music but for dvd’s and videos no but u can get the homebrew channel http://hbc.hackmii.com/ or u can use this one http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Homebrew_Channel u will need internet for the wii if u wan the homebrew channel hope i helped
nope
No you cannot do any of that of what you have mentioned.
Altho I did watch on Youtube this guy actually play a DVD on his Wii and it worked perfectly. Im not kidding you should go and check it out.
But other than that, it cannot play music mp3’s. It sucks really.
If you want I am giving you an idea to get a 360. The 360 can do all of this and more, its better than the Wii and I have both.
Definitely can’t play DVDs. Don’t think it has a media player for playing mp3s or video.
