Nintendo Wii: Next Generation Blast From The Past
The Nintendo Wii console is
like the 2001 Game Cube that returned with a sweet revenge! Wii, oddly as it is named, is essentially a newer and better version of Nintendos
Game Cube. Of course, much time and developments has elapsed since the time when Game Cube was released in the market.
Competitors such as Sony PS3 and Microsoft Xbox 360 with their sophisticated graphic features are now out in the horizon, but
Nintendo Wii maintains its ground, goes to the very core of gaming and shows that they capitalize on the main functionality itself
something which is more important than generating positive visual appeal.
Armed with its remote-like control
pad, the very oddity of having less of its competitors features makes it even more alluring to
gamers. Unusual as it may seem, the very fact that it took off most of Nintendos previous console models features makes it more attractive and
fun to play with. It also costs much less than the Sony PS 3 and Xbox, but it provides even more gaming satisfaction.
The Wii box contains everything the gamer needs to play the game properly. For better visual resolution, there is the option of
buying extra cables separately but for the most part, it is pretty much sufficient already even without it. The entire set is not too heavy
- yet another advantage the Wii has over other next generation gaming consoles. It was released in a plain white color
but, like many other Nintendo consoles, it may have more color options in the future.
The Wii is very convenient. You can play it in a horizontal or vertical manner, and it no longer
requires an adaptor to accept other Nintendo game discs, even the older and smaller discs from Game Cube days. It inherently has 512
MB of storage capacity for games, but if you find that to be unsatisfactory for your needs, they have also provided a slot for additional
memory via their Secure Digital card. The Wii Secure Digital card is readily available and Nintendo is famous for having an ample
supply of supplements for their products.
The Wii Sports is another one of the surprises you can expect to come out of the Nintendo Wii box. This extremely addictive game
was included with the purpose of helping the Nintendo Wii user to familiarize themselves with the controls of the Nintendo Wii with
flair.
You wouldnt have to load tons of games to get used to the controls since Wii Sports has been provided to initially serve that
purpose. You can expect a variety of Sports from this, including Wii tennis, Wii baseball and even Wii boxing! These games have different
controls and strategies and by the time you get used to playing Wii Sports, you will be ready for the more difficult games you can load in
your Nintendo Wii.
In a nutshell, the Wii is fun, innovative, and truly next generation in an old school kind of way.
